7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
The third in our series of free workshops on how to survive capitalism https://bristolaf.wordpress.com/2017/04/06/capitalism-a-survival-guide/ Featuring individual speakers from the Solidarity Federation, Anarchist Federation, Industrial Workers of the World and Unite the Union.
At work is often where we feel the most powerless. Our bosses order us around, set our rules, our time is not our own.
However with a bit of knowledge, and a lot of organisation, you can tip the scales of power in your favour, making work more survivable for you, and your colleagues.
We’ll be sharing experiences of taking the fight to the bosses. From a handy knowledge of legislation, to gaining the support of colleagues, and calling in your mates to shut down ‘business as usual! We hope to refine our strategies and work out which are most relevant to the modern workplaces.
As always this event is free to attend, but donations to help cover room hire are appreciated. Hot & Cold drinks & snacks will be available from the Hydra counter to keep you going. We’ll also have some anarchist pamphlets, papers, magazines and stickers some for free/donation and others for a few quid. Keep an eye out for future events, our C:SG workshops are every third Tuesday of the month, 7pm at Hydra Books.
Please remember that whilst we encourage debate of ideas, we do not tolerate attacks on individuals; especially in a way that uses oppressive or threatening behavior. We fully support and will implement the safer spaces policy of the venue, which you can read here : http://www.hydrabooks.org/safer-spaces/
