Royate Hill Community Orchard

Inspired by permaculture principles, the Royate Hill Community Orchard & allotment site has now been running as a voluntary project for over 10 years, and is co-ordinated by Mike Feingold. Alongside a mix of over 50 fruit trees, we also have a large allotment space for veg growing, plus a compost loo, greenhouse, sheds & roundhouse.

Bi-weekly workdays (usually 1st & 3rd Saturdays of each month) help maintain the fruit trees & veg beds on the site, and provide hands-on experience for anyone who’d like to get involved. No previous experiene is necessary!

Please dress in warm old clothes & footwear as it can be wet/cold (at least in winter). We have tools & some gloves to share out.

We break about 1.30pm for a shared vegan/vegetarian lunch, often with hot mulled cider. Please bring some food to share.
