Date(s) - Sat 21 November
10:00 am - 5:00 pm
One of the UK’s largest student-led public social enterprise conferences returns to Bristol on Saturday 21 November, focussing on the city’s growing green economy. Our theme this year is ‘Business Mind, Social Heart: Our Green Capital’, and marked the end of Global Entrepreneurship Week. Our aim is to challenge the profit-making focus of business, and empower people to take their ideas forward.
Speakers have been booked to share their knowledge from a large variety of different sectors: they include Julian Okoye, one of the founders of the GENeco bio-bus (popularly called ‘the Poo Bus’) that made global headlines, Kevin Neal, co-founder of the Compass Project which aims to help vulnerable people with a history of drug addiction, and Chloe Tingle, founder of No More Taboo which seeks to break taboos regarding menstruation, providing much-needed sanitary products to women in developing countries to liberate and empower them.
Other speakers include Joe Constant from Kickstart Enterprises, Nick Sturge from SETSquared, Annabelle hunt from FRANKwater and Saf Nazeer from Helpfulpeeps. There will also be a panel debate discussing sustainability entitled ‘Ways to Go Green’.
Lunch is included in the ticket price! Tickets can be acquired here: www.riseconference.org.uk
