Date(s) - Tue 15 December
7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
The third of our monthly discussion meetings (which take place on the third Tuesday of every month).
History is full of Revolutionary women – Feminists, Anarchists, Communists, and rebels who defied any labels from their contemporaries. Sadly our collective knowledge and memory of these women pales in comparison to that of the men around them. We hope to help repair that by talking about some of these revolutionary women who were largely forgotten.
Historically women struggled to be accepted by revolutionary movements. They often found themselves fighting for a revolution but against misogyny and patriarchy within it.
Sadly even to this day, cis women, trans women, non binary people, and anyone who isn’t a cis-man can struggle to have their voices heard, can be deliberately marginalised and even assaulted by those who claim to be their allies. This isn’t something to mourn, its something to fight, and to change. Open discussion on this will form the second part of the evening!
As usual there will be snacks and hot/cold drinks to keep folks going, £donations greatly appreciated (to cover room hire) but not required if you’ve not got money to spare.
