Author & Activist Peter Gelderloos is returning to Bristol as part of a UK speaking tour in support of their new book ‘Worshiping Power’. We’ll also be serving a hot vegan meal before the talk as a fundraiser!
Peter’s previous publications include ‘How Nonviolence Protects the State’, ‘Anarchy Works’, and ‘Learning From Ferguson’. The latest release looks at how and why states formed across the world, from Mesopatmia to the 20th Centuary. It aims to show how understanding the nature of the State is relevant to today’s struggles against patriarchy, environmental devastation, racism, war, and capitalism.
“An insightful, sweeping analysis of how and why states have arisen (or haven’t), delivered in sparklingly clear prose. It is everything that an anarchist history should be: heretical, tentative, and provocative, as well as deeply researched, persuasive, and above all, relevant.” —Kenyon Zimmer
