Royate Hill Community Orchard

After making contact at the Anarchist Bookfair back in April, a few of us have been meeting over the last weeks to talk about the possibilities of starting some activist support within Bristol. There is a charity based down in Cornwall called Counselling for Social Change, who offer long term, phone counselling to activists and retreats on a permaculture site down there. A link to their site is We have links with them already and are looking at the possibilities of working alongside them.

We would like to invite you to an open discussion and skill share about activist support. At the moment we’re a few heads sat talking about hypothetical ideas, so it feels really important to open up the space for other ideas and to start to get a feeling for what people are needing/wanting at the moment.

We plan to have an open meeting on Saturday 1st August at the Royate Hill community orchard, at 4pm in the roundhouse. Earlier in the day there will be a work day there, which is an open space for people to come along and lend a hand. This time of year is particularly exciting as the gardens will be bursting!

Everyone is invited to the meeting who has an interest in activist support. All backgrounds are appreciated, whether you feel that you need support yourself, you have ideas of what may be a positive step for the Bristol activist community, you have some skills you could offer…everything is welcome.

It would be really great to get a feeling of what is wanted at the moment so please come along if you’re free! Feel free to bring food to share 🙂
