Did ya miss us? We hope so, cos we missed you. A lot…all of you right down to your toe bones. How are you? hows the partner? and the kids? Great
This month we have a the wonderful, the incredible, the so stupendous that words do her no justice Sara Hirsch!!
Sara has published two full length poetry collections: ‘Still Falling’ with Burning Eye Books and most recently ‘Louder Than Words’ with BX3, which was endorsed by Michael Rosen.
Sara recently graduated with distinction with a master’s degree in Creative Writing & Education.
She runs Genesis Slam, London’s only regular 3 round slam, is working on her third collection ‘The State of Being Useful’ and is attempting to gradually dismantle the patriarchy, one poem at a time. You can find her on a website at www.sarahirsch.co.uk or on twittergram @sarsbars89
Also this month we have our favourite local boy Tom Denbigh! Tom loves poetry almost as much as he loves dogs. When asked why he has not yet written about dogs his reply was simply: “I am unworthy”.
Tom has won multiple slams and is a regular on the Bristol poetry scene. He came second in the national Hammer and Tongue poetry slam 2017.
Tom is currently doing a PhD on roots and soil loss. He really enjoys horrendous puns, hence if you ask him about his “ground-breaking” research, he’ll “soil” himself with delight.
Performing as well for your pleasure will be last months Spooky Slam WInner the fantastic Tom Sastry. He’s brilliant, you’re gonna love him ok?
AS IF THAT WASN’T ENOUGH
We have our audience-voted-for slam. It’s like ready steady cook but without poems to nourish and nurture instead of food, bring your friends, rig the voting system, bribe the judges just be friendly about it
See you there right?
