Many men today were never properly welcomed into adulthood by their elders. We can’t change that. But we can step up and be there for the boys today.
We men need to step up and be present for the boys in our community who are on the threshold of adulthood. We know what happens when boys have no fathers, are not taught how to live with their emotions, are forced to guess at what it means to be a man in our society. It leads to depression, violence, suicide, broken relationships… it leads to pain.
All it takes is one true connection with a good adult male role model. This is enough to give our boys a reason to fight to make good lives for themselves and be the best men they can. All we need to do is turn up and be the men who give a shit!
This is a chance to meet the men of Bristol Journeymanuk, and find out what we do, how we do it, and whether you – or someone you know – might want to get involved.
This event is open to all – men and women, parents, friends, interested strangers. Everyone is welcome.
This event will be hosted upstairs at Baggator, home of Easton Community Cinema
