From Slavery and the Klan to Police murder: What is wrong with the USA?
The execution of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile is the latest in a long line of Police murder in the USA. The so called bastion of the free has a tortuous history of racism from both the Klan which at its heights had millions of members. The fight for civil rights in the 1960s saw huge mobilisations and some victories but the level of state racism is a shocking indictment of the system. We are delighted that we have Brian Richardson coming to Bristol to introduce the discussion. Brian is a black activist, a barrister, a member of the SWP and editor of Say it Loud: Marxism and the fight against Racism .
