This will be a discussion event prompted by 3 speakers who will discuss different aspects of music and spirituality. After each speaker, people will have the opportunity to discuss and digest what has been said and briefly feedback to the whole room.

Drinks and snacks will be on-sale throughout the evening in the upstairs Arts House cafe. Don’t worry if you’re coming on your own – there will be a wide range of people from different churches so you definitely won’t be the only one. Everyone is welcome.

Our Speakers include:
James Harper
James will speak from the perspective of someone who has led worship as a bass player in a thriving evangelical church in central london (All Souls, Langham place) but now organises the music for the much more contemplative group, Foundation Bristol. His main musical passion are Motown, funk and jazz – particularly the music of Stevie Wonder (he will shortly be walking down the aisle to “Signed, Sealed, Delivered”!) but he also is the child of two opera singers and enjoys classical music and flamenco. He will talk about playing music in church, experiencing God indirectly through beauty and finding a spiritual place while listening to music

Frances Key
A skilled guitarist and singer, Frances has recently moved on to pursue her passion: music therapy. She will talk about the spiritual aspects of using music to heal and soothe.
