Billboards – are they visual pollution, welcome entertainment, or just an acceptable part of the urban furniture?
Advertising has a huge impact on our lives, whether we like it or not. Outdoor advertising occupies a unique space in that we have no choice about whether we are exposed to its messages.
The event is hosted by AdBlock Bristol, a group of Bristol residents and artists with an interest in the impacts of outdoor advertising. We’d like to connect with others, hear your views and explore an alternative vision for our outdoor spaces.
This is an opportunity to share your views on outdoor advertising in Bristol and to discuss whether, as a community, we could better use this public space for the wellbeing of our city and people. Come and hear some background to the debate, and share your ideas, at this free and friendly public meeting.
