Royate Hill Community Orchard
Come & join Mike and the gang for the 1st full Apple Pressing session of the season – this Saturday at Royate Hill Community Orchard & Allotment!
We’ll be picking, chopping & pressing from 11am to 5pm, so bring a suitable container in which to take away some of the juice you have just pressed (freshly pressed juice in a sealed container, such as glass or plastic bottle with screw top, is good to drink for 4/5 days if refrigerated). Apple pressing can be a fairly messy & sticky activity, so come suitably dressed.
Kids with adults are very welcome, we have a small hand press which they can use to press their own juice.
Bring a food contribution towards shared vegan lunch, usually around 1.30pm.
The Apple Pressing is a part of the volunteer workday at Royate Hill – every 1st & 3rd Saturday of the month from 11-4/5. There’s always plenty of other work to do if the pressing gets too crowded. For background info read this – Royate_history_info
The community orchard operates according to permaculture principles (to the best of our ability) – we learn as we go along so come along and learn with us. No experience is necessary!
